Lynn Pedersen, Clerk

Lynn has been a lifelong horsewoman and has been deeply involved in many aspects of the equine industry. Lynn graduated from Cazenovia College with a degree in Stable and Farm Management. She did a short internship on a Morgan horse farm in California prior to graduation, where she had the privilege of auditing some graduate classes in equine development at UC Davis.

After graduation she lived in a number of US cities where she continued to ride and observe different equine operations of varied sizes.

Lynn has always had a desire to be involved in small business administration and in 2006 she fulfilled a dream when she opened Equine Essentials Tack Shop in Oxford MA. Many opportunities were afforded to Lynn as she became involved in this aspect of the equine industry. Among them were participating in a 3 day seminar hosted by the Bates/Wintec saddle company where she earned a certificate in saddle fitting, as well as becoming a certified helmet fitter/safety vest fitter with the Charles Owen helmet manufacturer. Her tack shop hosted a multitude of seminars relevant to every aspect of the equine industry, covering such topics as equine insurance, equine chiropractics, corrective shoeing, holistic medicine, dressing for success in the show ring, horsehair jewelry making, and many many others. In operating the tack shop, Lynn made lifelong friends in the equine community in the greater Worcester Area. In 2014 an offer was made to buy the tack shop and while it was a difficult decision to sell, selling gave Lynn more time to spend with her daughter Daria and husband Chris.

Lynn now helps run her husband’s businesses, as well as helps her daughter advance through her own horse career with her horse Puma. Daria and Puma have participated in Pony Club, IEA and are now showing in Horse Trials. Lynn still rides her own horse Keabow and is a perpetual student of learning how be the best person and horse person she can possibly be.
