Our Equine Partners

Our equine partners are specifically trained to work in our programs. It takes a special horse to be able to partner with our therapists, participants, and volunteers!

Our horses are treated with respect and receive outstanding care from our staff, trained volunteers and equine care professionals. We are grateful to our donors who sponsor our horses; without their generous support, we would not have the equines needed to support our participants in their therapeutic and recreational activities.

If you have a horse you think would be a good fit for our program please use this link to go to our donation information page.

To support the health and wellbeing of our equine partners, our balanced rider weight limits are between 100 - 160lbs.

Angel

Angel lives up to her name. She is a miniature horse with a HUGE personality. She loves attention, loves children and adults, and always wants to be part of the action. Angel is also a carriage-driving horse! A one-year sponsorship of Angel will give you special access to our Horsing Around at the Mandarin gala in November.

Blue

Blue came to BINA as an experienced therapy horse, having been a part of a program similar to BINA’s for many years. Her kind personality and wonderful conformation make her a great addition to our herd. She is a stellar member of our Occupational & Physical Therapy Utilizing Hippotherapy and Recreational Riding programs.

Buddha

Buddha is one of our newest horses here at BINA and graciously provided to us by the Kahrl Family. He is an APHA registered gelding standing 16h and is built, broke and beautiful with a gentle and willing personality which makes him a great addition to our program.

Abounding Grace “Gracie Girl”

Gracie Girl is a chestnut, registered Quarter horse mare. She is a horse with beautiful movement and shiny, copper coat. She loves being groomed and being ridden on our Sensory Trail. Her canter and eagerness make her a great partner for our independent and advancing participants.

Whiskys Gracy Lady “Gracy”

Gracy has been with BINA Farm for a long time! She is a very special girl who teaches our young riders to canter. To keep her feeling her best, she gets myofascial work to keep her muscles in good shape. Myofascial, similar to massage, in addition to chiropractic, keeps our horses comfortable so that they are happy doing their work. If you know what it's like to need massage and chiropractic work to be comfortable every day, perhaps you would consider sponsoring Gracy!

Gunner

Gunner is leased to BINA, and will return to his role as a summer program horse for summer season; we thank his owner for sharing him with us while we are searching for another horse to support our programs. Did you know- only one in a hundred horses is suitable for a therapeutic riding program?

Halo

Here is a horse who wears her halo well! Halo is a very special Halflinger who has, in turn, made the lives of our participants very special. Halo is an “easy keeper”. That means she goes barefoot, she has no medical conditions that require special care, she has no stable vices, and she is quiet and calm in almost every situation! Halo, we hope you wear your halo with us for a very long time. Would you consider sponsorship of Halo?

Oreo

Oreo is a gentle and loving soul, and because of that he is used for our Hippotherapy, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy and Recreational Riding programs. Left on his own, Oreo will run and play – but once he goes to work, he’s quiet, calm and comforting. His little nudges and soft eyes will just steal your heart. Oreo was a favorite in our Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy research study with McLean Hospital.

Puma

Puma is a rockstar, and has led an exemplary life supporting children in reaching their dreams and goals. Fun fact: his favorite treat to get from his riders are Fruit Loops!

Puma is on a free lease to BINA Farm Center. Free leasing a horse means that BINA will provide all daily and routine care of your horse and see to it that your horse is loved and appreciated every single day. Did you know that if you have a horse that you think would work in our program, you can free lease your horse to us?

Scarlett

Scarlett is a chestnut mare on free lease to our barn. She participates in all our programs and is trained to be used with our riders that require the use of a lift.

Tindra

Tindra is a cute, chestnut, Icelandic mare who joined our herd in March! She has been settling in comfortably on the property and within the herd. Her favorite activity is lying in her paddock while eating mouthfuls of hay.

Yoda Jedi Knight “Yoda”

Yoda Jedi Knight has a can-do attitude! He is an adorable guy who stands just 13h and is the perfect height for Hippotherapy. Yoda was a gracious gift to us from THE UPS STORE, (one of our corporate sponsors), in honor of one of their long-time employees.

Our horses need to do very specific jobs in very specific ways to keep our participants safe. BINA horses need special training to learn to work as a team along with leaders, side walkers and instructors. We value the partnerships made with our equine teams and our corporate sponsors.

Zipptydodah “ Zip”

A funny thing about Zip – he is the least ‘zippy’ horse on the farm, and he just takes life in stride. Zip is a seasoned trail horse from New Hampshire. Like Gracie Girl, zip wears special shoes and has a special diet to support his metabolic needs. He is a great partner to our littlest of riders and the work they do is specifically walk and trot. BINA Farm center invested in GGT footing in our indoor and outdoor arenas that is state of the art; this special material makes it very comfortable for our horses' feet and legs.
