Bringing People Together With and Without Special Needs through Therapeutic, Clinical and Recreational Programs since 2009.

  • If you are at least 14 years of age, able to work independently and have experience with horses or working with children with special needs we welcome you to volunteer in our programs. For those requiring supervision, we have opportunities for those individuals and their parent/guardian.

  • Though horse experience is preferred due to the nature of our programs, it is not required. We strive to welcome community members with varying experiences and backgrounds as our participants' and program needs are vast. We offer various training opportunities to help volunteers obtain the skills needed to support our overall mission.

Barn chores - support our barn team as we clean stalls and paddocks, fill water buckets, feed grain and hay and prepare for the program day ahead.

Sidewalker - walk and jog alongside our participants as they ride or maneuver around the farm throughout their lesson or therapy session.

Horse Groom - gather tack and ready the horse assigned so they can be brushed and ready for the lesson or therapy session ahead.

Horse Leader - lead the horse during a lesson or therapy session so the participant can focus on learning, gaining new skills, and developing independence.

Greeter - meet and greet our participants and their families to the property. Use your smiling face and joyful personality to bring a welcoming experience.

Gardener– prepare the soil, plant seeds and provide ongoing care for seasonal vegetables, herbs and flowers to be enjoyed by our horses and community members.

Facility Maintenance – assist with maintenance, carpentry, and landscaping needs of our facilities and property.

Administrative, Development, PR/Marketing or Fundraising - use your experience to help further our mission.

Gala Committee – do you enjoy engaging with others? Help with the planning, auction item solicitation and building attendance for our annual black-tie gala Horsing Around at the Mandarin.

  • Volunteers who wish to support our lessons and therapy sessions are strongly encouraged to commit to a consistent weekly time for a season as it is beneficial to our therapeutic participants who have challenges with change/transit.ons Our seasonal sessions range from 8 to 13 weeks long and are Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Weekly shifts are a minimum of 2 hours; however, we welcome more time if you have it to give! There are other opportunities that do not have a weekly commitment and the length of commitment time is based on what time can be given.

  • Our operation hours are 7 days per week between 8 AM – 7 PM. Barn and farm volunteer hours are needed during these hours. The time of greatest need for lesson and therapy session volunteers is during after school hours; 2:30 – 7 PM. Weekend lessons and therapy sessions begin at 9 AM and end around 3 PM (end time may vary).

  • Volunteer shifts are first come, first serve and sign-up is available through our online portal following attendance of a Volunteer Orientation and demonstration of knowledge and skills.
