Volunteer Information
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us at BINA Farm Center!
Please note that all volunteers must be at least fourteen years old.
Though horse experience is preferred due to the nature of our programs, it is not required. We strive to welcome community members with varying experiences and backgrounds as our participants' and program needs are vast. We offer various training opportunities to help volunteers obtain the skills needed to support our overall mission.
All volunteers must complete an initial orientation before their first volunteering session. This one hour orientation will explain what BINA Farm Center is all about, programs we offer, and the different volunteer opportunities available. You will also get a tour of the farm and meet our horses, learn how to sign in for your shift, and receive an overview of how to assist with side walking during lessons and barn chores. After you have completed your volunteer application and paperwork through Better Impact, please email volunteer@binafarm.org to schedule this mandatory orientation.
For your first one or two volunteer shifts, you will shadow an experienced volunteer for a more hands-on experience with side walking. Once you have completed several side walking volunteer shifts, and depending on your previous experience with horses, you can receive training in leading a horse during lessons, and be eligible to sign up for those volunteer shifts as well.
There is a separate orientation for volunteering at our Dana Hall location in Wellesley. Please email volunteer@binafarm.org to schedule that orientation before you can begin volunteering there.
