Recreational Riding
Inclusive programs supporting our mission of bringing people together
We offer inclusive Recreational Riding for individuals of all abilities and riding skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders. We place riders in the appropriate class based on their skill set and goals. For those looking for more of a clinical approach, we recommend our Occupational and Physical Therapy Utilizing Equine program which is provided by a therapist.
Recreational Riding offers opportunities for participants to gain experience in both mounted and unmounted activities. Participants develop riding skills such as balance and coordination, and learn important aspects of horse care, including grooming, feeding, and stable management. Lessons are tailored to each participant’s individual needs and goals, ensuring a personalized experience that supports growth at their own pace. These experiences not only promote physical, cognitive, and emotional growth, but also help participants build meaningful relationships with the horses, fostering trust and empathy. Participants work in a safe, supportive environment that encourages confidence and skill development, both in and out of the saddle.
BINA’s lesson formats are:
Semi-Private Lesson Format: Two riders (each with their own horse), participate in a 45-minute lesson which includes 15 minutes of unmounted horsemanship and 30 minutes of mounted riding time.
Group Lesson Format: Three riders (each with their own horse), participate in a 60-minute lesson which includes 15 minutes of unmounted horsemanship and 45 minutes of mounted riding time.
Private Lessons (limited slots): One rider participates in 15 minutes unmounted horsemanship and 30 minutes of mounted riding time.
All of our instructors are MA Licensed, some of our Instructors are PATH Intl. certified while others are either in process and or have gained experience working in the adaptive riding industry. Please note, certain riding centers use terms such as Adaptive or Therapeutic Riding, however at BINA our lessons are all inclusive.
An initial consultation and evaluation is required of all potential participants to determine which program and instructor or therapist best suits your goals and needs. To support the health and well-being of our equine partners, we do have balanced rider weight limits depending on our herd’s abilities.
